Very nice, VICMAN!  The StayGlow scales are surprisingly bright.

Badly damaged box in the mail today... [cringe]

Thankfully the knives were in bubble wrap... But taped to it [double cringe].

Lovely knives but full of what looks like 40 years old crud [triple cringe].

3 Wenger SI
2x 73 (first one with a blade in a sorry shape)
1x 76

6 Victorinox
1 Bijou in black cellidor (no crest at all but Orso Genève engraved on the blade)
1 Ambassador in Stainless Steel
1 Lumberjack in red ribbed Alox
1 Spartan in a ton of crud... Wait, I mean red cellidor economy scales.
1 1979 Soldier
1 1977 Soldier

There was also a fake 1951 soldier that's rather well made. Steel looks a bit inferior and the spacers suffered a bit of a bend... The scales look like damaged micarta rather than the wood resin of the original. They particularly suffered from being taped to the bubble wrap. It's going in the smurfy box with 5 other uninteresting knives that came in that package... I bought the lot only for the lumberjack and the soldiers.

Any idea how I should unload that smurfy box? Blurry pics on an auction site so people can't tell if they're the real deal or not? (god, I hate people who do that... Can't resolve myself to being a smurfing smurf too)

1977!!!  :gimme:

As I slowly settle into my shiny new ivory tower office, I once again find some time to drool over shinies.
I got this in the mail yesterday. Like a passenger, only different! I thought it was a good avenue in which to try out that wenger wrench.

Passenger mod? If so, who did the Wenger wrench transplant?

Sorted it out . . . it's the 2017 VSAKCS* model made in very limited quantities for them.

Another SwisCard for me. The SwissCard Lite this time.
Looking at the tool-set I think this is one of the best, at least for me. Although I really like the Nailcare too.
Since the scissors can do pretty much everything the SwissCard blade can do the trade-off with the glass nail file is pretty good I think.
But that's a different story.
I like the translucent ruby card. It's great fun to see how all the tools fit together.

SwissCard Lite

I've made a rough timeline to see if I can date the SwissCards. As it turns out dating is pretty rough on these things.

Interesting view, wait... what's that?

The card has a date stamp on the inside. Right under the tip of the blade. Seems this one is from 2004.

Great find on that stamp, and yes it is pretty interesting to see how the tools fit inside. You also see further and further improvements, Nailcare is the newest version and is almost completely packed, no real waste space.

Be careful that you're not leaping to conclusions about the mark you found. Do you know for certain from Victorinox that it's the year of manufacture? These kinds of marks are used in plastics molding for all sorts of things. Even if it's indicative of when it was molded, it's not necessarily a year. Victorinox would have to provide information about what it means.
