Well If you've been here a while and tend to notice things, you'll know I love the Voyageur.  I think Neil's picture of a smooth alox version a few years back got me mesmerized with them.  I recently received this nwe beauty from Syph007;  a hardened Voyageur.  Love It!

Love it   84 or 93mm? I'd love me some 93mm Voyageur :D

The 93 size isnt a challenge though! :D

Getting those scissors hacked down to the 84 size is the hard part of that job.  That little voyageur had great snap though!

Ya I should have said a little more about this special baby that you can't see from my simple photos.  First it has a beautiful brass liner that's thicker than your typical one on a cadet. ...and a nice shiny spacer since there is no keyring.... but the real meat is in the tools.

Robert's not hunting down the rare 84mm scissors and performing transplants, he's taking 91mm scissors and giving them a better life.  Lots more details in the Mod Squad forum.

Robert has done a few great mods for me, but I can be a bit picky and I like the snap of the old Vics.  Every engineer knows though, if you show the prototyype you better be prepared for what follows.  Anyway I think Syph decided he'd really show me snap in an 84mm knife, and this was the result.  I've been a bit too busy to play with this one too much, but let me tell you... Snap is not only its middle name, it's first and last as well.

Now of course since these customs are all largely hand made they all have their quirks, but in case anyone is wondering about having a mod done, let me tell you you can't go wrong with a custom from Syph007. Robert is Mr. Precision and is also super to work with. He's keeps the communication going, and delivers above and beyond.

The only problem with my new Voyageur "Snap" (never knife with a personal name before), is he wants to be my EDC and I'm already testing another custom as my EDC... oh what to do.

Hopefully I'll have time soon to write about my other special 84mm models... but U think I know what I want for my next custom.

Thanks again Robert.

I will post pics later......

Went to gunshow today.   I did NOT plan to buy anything but ammo.  BUT....a Wenger EVO-54  caught my eye.  Price the seller told me: $40.  "I will think about it..."

Came back, and bought it for......$30!!!!  Listed on Smokey Mountain Knife Works new for $125.99.....

Barely used.  Is missing a toothpick....but an easy fix.

what a steal!

Not the latest, but the first ever instead. I thought I had lost it about twelve years ago, but this morning I had found it in a drawer what I rarely use. How did it get there...nobody knows. Anyways, I'm very happy. :)

Behold the Rucksack: (funny, I didn't remerber the scales being nylon. )

Small collection of SAK's, (but growing rapidly. :D) not so fast at this time. :( And the most important of all: Ze Zuper Zoldier by Steve!  :ahhh

rarely as in once every twelve years!

Glad you found your rucksack though - maybe the scales evolved into nylon during its decade long slumber.................

Last month I threw in bids on a bunch of SAKs on ebay, figuring I'd win 2 or 3. Instead I won almost everything I bid on. That whimpering sound is my wallet.

Over the past few weeks I have purchased the CT Lite, CT 41, Alox Cadet, Alox Electrician, and now I am waiting on the swisschamp XLT.

I should receive it by tomorrow. Hope that it is not too large to use.

The completion of my Amazon order arrived today.  Total was a Vic. Red Compact and two Electricians.  The Compact arrived the other week and the Electricians were due to arrive on Saturday the 6th after supposedly shipping out on the 1st.  Contacted Amazon and they suspected the Electricians were lost in transit...USPS/Fed EX was method (no surprise there).  That communication was on Tuesday.  They did a re-order and and did next day UPS....and the Electricians arrived home today.  One is in my pocket now and the other is resting with all the other Alox models that sadly don't appear to be available any more.
