I am going to collect a few silver alox's and I think that is one I will grab.  If I can remember where I seen it....I guess that is why there is "google".

Thx.

Yup, they're still available here.
Only those with small blades and electrician blades are discontinued here as well.

Electrician blades? I can get both the Apprentice and Electrician here, they are still listed in the price catalogue from July 2012 I have here.

Whats the Apprentice one and how much is one?

Electrician blade and main blade.

Have a look at all the models, and mourn all the cool discontinued stuff...

Never used them though. Just what google gave me.

@crackout

I'm afraid you're right. :( I had to double check that. Only the Electrician is available, the Apprentice is no longer listed. I'm glad I got one in time.

Pizzini still lists the Apprentice: http://www.pizzini.at/shop/contents/de/d28_schweizermesser-metallschalen-swissknives.html

(I have bought knives from them many times, no problems.)

My new Green Pioneer Harvester (No 31) and Minichamp. Both users, one for the pocket, one for the keyring.
What a knife that Harvester. It is both fearsome and beautiful.

Got a Bantam as my prize for the pumpkin carving contest today.  Nice little knife.  Ash also sent a honkin' big monkey-fist with a cobra weave lanyard on it; very cool!

I received a few silver alox saks the other day.  The Farmer, Pioneer, Pioneer Rancher and the Electrician to go along with my Solo.

I also ordered an Apprentice!

That will pretty much be all I collect/buy except for a Cadet II. :D

How bright is the light on yours?  On mine it's just bright enough to illuminate the tip of the bit driver in a dark space, and not much more.

Mine's about the same.  Definitely no replacement for a dedicated keychain light.  The magnifying glass will will come in handy though, I've used the one on my Explorer to read directions and small print on products at the store.  :tu:

:sak:Long ago I decided never to buy a LED or Clock etc SAK. The reason? I want my SAKS to be waterproof. You can always have a separate minimaglight (then) or a LEDlight (now) and a Casio, Suunto, Tissot Touch or whatever.

That's exactly the kind of thing I tend to use mine for most often; small print on medicine bottles, food labels, etc.  I do use it a lot when I take my daughter on the little nature hikes we do in the open space next to my house; great for looking at bugs, worms, and the like.  She loves seeing them up close!

I am considering getting a custom sak or Explorer for the mag glass so I can look at coins, jewelry and other small stamped items as well as fine print...:D
