Beautiful! Congrats and enjoy it! The thing is no less than $647.38 for Canada from the same source and of course it cannot be shipped here.

Sterling silver scales, designed by the David Yurman company.

There is a second model as well, arguably less beautiful than the one above:

Those are beautiful! I think I prefer the second one.

But the tweezers and toothpick look stupid! :D

The silver one is beautiful, but that's a lot of cash to spend on a SAK.  Although I would if I could;)

Thanks, but I didn't buy it. With the exception of my Wenger Giant , that is substantially more than I've paid for any SAK. Since you can pick up a Victorinox silver Classic for about $100, figure $500 is simply for the Saks name.

Would love to pick it up off ebay for a fraction of its list price, but now that I've alerted everyone here... :P

Gustav Klimt's fans will understand. Incredibly well made scales.
It has saw and pen (!) at the same time. What a tools combination  :climber:

Nice! Saw that earlier on the Jovoto site. Is it now available for sale?

I don't think so. I was lucky to catch one on ebay. It was pretty expensive in the end, but worth money I paid, because like I said it's made incredibly well. I actually didn't expect such a quality of Klimt paint's image on the scales.

You got me too  :( I guess now that you posted by mistake in this topic, as it was implied that it was your latest SAK.

Beautiful but definitely not worth the price IMHO. I had to go and search for that designer name. You pay ten times what these are really worth to do what, advertise that company.

If anyone remembers the Horseshoe Nail SAK, that one was as well a designer's piece in a very low limited run (100 pcs). And what a beauty that SAK was. These in comparison are quite weak, thin ordinary silver (lowest purity most likely, silverware type) scales, again, very thin and not even perfectly applied over the exterior aluminium liners (look at the pics). And at these insane prices with regular T&T - they could at least skipped them if couldn't make silver tipped tweezers.

I still like the scales and I would like a MiniChamp wrapped in a pair (not at this price). But, again, I would like a lot a MiniChamp dressed in old style Broker steel scales.

I threw the Saks silver Classic  and the Indian Vic in here as a FYI because this is probably the most active thread. Have done it several other times in the past. Try and say when I've actually bought the knife. Sorry if I confused people.

I don't think I've bought one since I picked up this pair at a knife show in February.  I might be suffering from withdrawal...

:D thought that it had a standard retail price as the damascus edition for example (2012 edition was in most places $399, with a few exceptions)

This SAK was released at a time when I was not actively looking for new SAKs, being happy with the ones that I was using. Later when I found out about it I was all  but too late. I never saw one for sale myself.

It was not a standard Victorinox edition made in thousands like the annual Damascus LEs were. Just a 100 pieces special run made for Christopher Raeburn.

The '' was directed at me  :) Nothing wrong to like something that in pure financial terms does not make sense. And ~ $500 is what: 4-5 common collectable SAKs cost these days (or about only 2 or 3 in 'cheap' Midshipman terms, or only about half a SAK in J.L. terms). If one likes a small Classic instead of a bunch of bigger SAKs at least that one Classic has better chances to be carried in the pocket everywhere that person goes. I really thought you got one for some special occasion and I was like: good for you!
