SAK pin-thingies
on: August 03, 2010, 11:06:05 PM
I want to mod my Tinker by removing a tool and adding something else. I'm guessing that will destroy the pin-thingy that holds it all together. What are those things called, and where would I get one? I could have just searched for this but I have no idea what they're called :s

That's it! How do you use those anyways? Whack the ends or something?

Wouldn't it be better to use those screw-thingies with a screw in each end and a sylinder in the middle? Another thing I don't know the name of >.<

The thing I wanted to do was switch out the can opener on the Tinker with a flash drive

I think Alcohol, Tabacco and Firearms should be a convenience store, not a government agency.

I know the type of faster your looking for ...

I've never found a source that does them small enough.  If you find such a source please let me know.

People have used normal threaded bolts before but I'd worry about the long term reliability of that solution.  That's not to say it wouldn't work but there is probably a reason why no knife manufacturer has ever gone that route :)

Adding a flash drive there might be fun but keep in mind that you will place a lot of strain on the USB socket due to the weight.
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

Yeah I dropped the idea, just me being bored. Fell in love with the Spartan after I woodified it (or rather, because I woodified it) so the Tinker has been desked
