What to do with this knock-off?
on: August 01, 2010, 07:09:13 PM
I posted about this knock-off yesterday.  Today I opened the scissors and they did this.

the scales are affixed weird.  They are placed on and then a tab is folded under the end liner to hold them on.  any suggestions on how to remove the scales and mod it?

  • When in doubt, use a bigger hammer.

I can think of a few uses:
Target practice
Firewood
Cannon fodder
Scrap metal
a chew toy for an annoying dog

Chuck Norris' preferred iron supplement is rebar.

If its like the cheap penknives we get here you can remove the scales by getting a little screwdriver and bending the 'tabs' out, these tabs will probably fall off when you do that,
You will then have something to practice 'moding' on and it will not matter if it goes wrong  :tu:

Thanks for suggestions guys. Much appreciated. The scales are, I think, stainless steel, so they might have a use. :)
