Zippo lighter Collecting...
on: August 17, 2010, 02:14:25 PM
I am a big fan of Zippo and thus I'm a collector. I have a Satin Chrome; dated: C 09(my first Zippo), a High Polished Chrome model; dated: E XV (bought it off a friend for $7), and a new Meadow model; dated B 10 (ordered this one directly form the company). Not a huge collection but it gets the job done! for now.

BTW, I do not smoke!

Do any of you collect or use these fine lighters?

I have about 6 or 7 knocking about I think, but I also have a load of other makes too.

They are great lighters but do of course suffer from evaporation if you don't use them all the time. I prefer butane lighters for back up, but currently EDC an IMCO :)

You got some pics for us?

Yeah, I agree, the evaporation issue on Zippos is one downside to them, but as a non-smoker I, myself, don't mind it. But for smokers (or pyrofreak such as I) that like the classic look of a Zippo but without the evaporation issue, the Z-Plus butane ligher insert is a great choice.

P.S. If you don't mind me asking, what is a IMCO?

Thanks for your interest in my collection. When I have time I'll be sure to upload some pics!

P.P.S- if you have time, I would love to see your collection!
