I rarely purchase an item (of any sort) that I like enough to want to start a internet thread about (or at least one that doesn't already have many threads about it already). But it doesn't seem like there is too much talk about the new Style CS, and IMO it is one of the best little tools to come around in a long while.
I've tried all sorts of keychain tools...SAK Classic, Mini-Champ, Rambler, Leatherman P4, Micra, etc. I originally had the SAK Classic (hasn't everyone?) but I wanted a little more function. I tried the Mini-Classic, and that was too big and had some tools I could do without, so I settled on a Rambler. I liked it a LOT, but the scissors would frequently gum up and not spring back open and the bottle opener wasn't that great (great little philips screwdriver, though). I found Leatherman's offerings to generally be too heavy. I tried to like the Micra (it seems many do) but to me most of the tools were too fragile (for what I tried to do with them), the scissors on the several I had weren't all that great, and it just seemed really heavy.
Also, a big reason I never really used a keychain tool was because it was always attached to a big chunk of keys that constantly got in the way whenever I tried to use it. I always looked to something else I was carrying to do a job, but I always kept one on my keychain as a last resort.
When the Style CS came out I decided to try out "another" keychain too. I quickly found that it seemed lighter than the Micra and had a really useable pair of scissors. It has a good pair of detachable tweezers that were much better than the Micra's and are on par with an SAK.
Most importantly, though, I could quickly detach it from my keychain whenever I wanted to use it.
I didn't care much for the blade at first but after resharpening it from a chisel grind to a wedge grind, I find it pretty handy. Reshaping it also made it much more useable for a lefty.
Anyways, I know that I find it very helpful reading peoples' experiences about different products and I wanted to give my point of view. Hopefully it will help those on the fence about whether they would like the Style CS.
