Pocket PowerPlier Came Today! :D
on: November 12, 2010, 09:05:17 PM
Sorry about the lousy pics, I'm a terrible photographer. :(

I'll probably put a full review up at some point, but for now some quick impressions. Fit and finish is very nice. Smooth polished stainless, and the the pliers just guide open seemlessly. Tools come out smoothly too, they do clump but that's not a big deal, and I'm excitedly thinking about what to replace those spacers with.:D  Overall the size and weight is just perfect for EDC, really happy with my purchase. I'll likely use it as is for a while before getting into my planned mods.

Nice :) The PPP is the most old school PST-like tool still being made today. :) (and I mean that in a good way) :)
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

The big mod I want to try is reversing the handles to make the tools outside opening. As seen here . Not as easy as taking off the handles, flipping them and screwing it back together. I'd have to cut a section of the handle out for the plier head to fold into, plus there might be some clearance issues with certain tools. I've also got plans to replace the Phillips head bit with a 1/4" drive adaptor (similar to what the Multitakers AR-15 MT has), and also put a thumb stud on the blade to make it OHO. Lots to do!  :D

Ah yes, I hadn't made the connection between the two threads.  It sounds like a great project, keep us informed.  :tu:
