Lately, I have noticed a significant drop off in the level of comedy and humor (humour) here.

Someone's to blame.  I just can't decide who. :-\

The Scandinavians have never been funny and Americans just love their gas guzzling cars, big guns and BBQ so they are more of a hands on people, action speaks louder than words.

No, the Brits are to blame. They have Mr. Bean, Monty Python, Red Dwarf and many, many more. So the Brits have a responsibility here
There is no problem that cannot be solved by the use of high explosives.

No disrespect, but with the surplus of blondes there, surely there's one or two "blonde moments" that could be humorous for the rest of us...

I'm going to blame the economy.  Everything was funnier when we weren't skint ::)
