Got me a Cybertool...
on: September 16, 2010, 11:34:57 AM
...in lovely Emerald Green.   This was another one of those things that has been on the "list" for ages but never pulled the trigger on.  Well thanks to Neil I finally have one and now I have it I keep asking myself "Why didn't I get one sooner?"

It has gone straight into EDC and time will tell if it replaces my old friend - the Swisschamp.

Pics again stolen from Neil as lets face it, there ain't much chance of improving those.  :tu:
I'm back!!

I really like those scales. Far better than the translucent red ones if you ask me. And I EDC a CyberTool myself, good choice :)
You should seriously visit vicfan.com. All the hoopy froods are doing it.

very nice, especially the colour. I think the 34 is the ideal EDC size and tool complement. I have a 41 which is also cool, but I keep it in the rucksack for backup, too big for pocket carry.

Very Nice!

Do you know if those scales are factory on the CyberTool 34?  I have not located an identifier for that model.  Did it come in a box you could post the number from?

Thanks!

I prefer the bit driver over the fish scaler any day.  As long as the saw isn't a deal breaker, you'll probably find it handier.  My Cybertimer is a Cybertool 41 with Timekeeper scales and I find it extremely handy for workday EDC

Yeah, that really works for pocket carry  :2tu:  ::)

If you find another way of storing them, indeed they do very much so work for pocket carry. After all its the same size bits the Cybertool uses...

Unfortunately unless I'm mistaken (would love to be wrong!) those bits don't have the bearing in them so won't stay in the CT driver :(
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

True.

Is there a way to drill and glue a bearing in them?

I have not tried it but what about dropping a very small magnet inside the driver to hold the bit?   Some of those rare earth magnets are very small and powerful.  :tu:

You can use the bit, but if the driver is pointed down, the bit will just drop out.

The bit driver that comes with the kit has a magnet that can be popped out and transferred

It would probably work with those single sided bits better though.

I got a Cybertool 34 a couple of days ago. Just with ordinary ruby scales, not such a beautiful green  ;) I don't pocket carry it, but I have it in my bag all day. Love it, the tools on it are so useful!

Once I thought what a strange collection of tools, who needs that  But to be honest, that small pliers and the bit set are much more useful on a daily basis than a wood saw (and I have a Farmer with a wood saw  :D).

(and I have a Farmer with a wood saw  :D).

I share the same 'syndrome'.

No tool is objectively useful. Well, maybe some are. The awl, for example. The scissors. The can-opener, as well.
But if you like a particular tool, whatever it may be, you'll find a use for it. And it will work just fine, because they are such quality tools.
It's the beauty of Swiss Army Knives.

In fact... I think I want a Cybertool.
No, wait: I NEED ONE! :ahhh :D

The hunt is on.
