A few more knives graced my door today.

A Wenger Ranger Mountaineer (I think) with slide lock.

A pair of custom Handled knives from Serene. One in sterling silver, the other in stainless steel.

Victorinox Gray Alox Woodsman # 30/50 from Felinevet.

And what could be in this box?

A gold plated Bijou? I find the Victorinox 58mm knives a bear to properly ID. The eBay seller called it a gold plated Classic, but it does not have the lanyard ring…so a Bijou it is until someone else on here makes more sense of it.

Technically the gold one is a Bijou, but in Ibach everything is a Classic.  It's been listed as a classic in several places so you can consider it your secret that it is really a Bijou; a clear sign you need as much help as the rest of us.

If you want to be precise it's Model: 0.6200.88   (there is no help for you then).

Ya, you might want to consider... hmmm no toothpick and tweezers.... is it really a Bijou....

This type of thinking will lead to  :ahhh  and  :drink:

Maybe they have it right...everything is a Classic. That does make identifying them a lot easier.    :D

Maybe it IS a Classic and they sensibly removed the keyring because they realized no one should carry it! :ahhh

Unless it's a Golfer.

Personally, I think of it more as a Broker than a Classic or Bijou. Metal scales w/o rivets, no T&T = Gold Broker.

I would tend to agree I have mine listed in my inventory as Classic/Broker.  I think on SOSAK we also refer to it as a broker.  I figure brokers might like to carry a gold knife.  With no keyring, put it in a slip case and I think it would travel fine.

So technically, it is an Ensign then.  :D

Broker's have the key ring.

Thanks Neil. My question is this, will I have to protect it from Benner now that he has gone to the tarty side?

...

You've got the hang of it....  :ahhh

....and if you look up the term Ensign in old military terminology you'll see that the Swiss/Soldier Shield makes sense.

The man's right.

Remember, you are never a fully fledged tart until you own a Sebbie  :pok: :D

I'd buy a Sebbie in a flash if I could actually carry the lovely thing around :(
