Hello everyone. I'm a great devotee to the whole DIY ethic, one of my latest interesting projects was the dirt-cheap construction of a small furnace for aluminum casting.

I was heavily into SAKs and all manner of pocketknives as a kid, the more implements, the more fascinating. I usually kept a mini SAK clone on my keychain for years. Once in college, upon seeing a friend's Leatherman (probably PST), I was a convert to the pliers-based tools, again, usually keeping a mini clone of some sort on my keychain.

Fast forward to a few months back when Woot had an awesome deal on a SOG PowerLock. As I researched it, I found links to this site, its excellent writeups and forums, and I became quite convinced that the PowerLock would be the full-size, real brand MT worth dropping some actual money on and carrying daily (built to be hacked by the owner!). I've been very pleased with the PowerLock, and I've enjoyed reading various threads here, mostly in the modding subforum, as I'll likely head that direction myself soon.
