I Got a new iPhone4

Sunday i bought a new iPhone4 i think i am in love. I bought a Samsung Sunburst four months a go i just did not like it. I can't believe all the things the iPhone does! I am a old guy and i am finding this phone easy to setup and use. I put my iTunes stuff in it found a app called Tapatalk that works with Multitool.org works great. Today i got two apps Talking Tom and a flashlight. Talking Tom is a cat that purrs when you pet him and when you talk to him he repeats what you say in a funny voice. The flashlight app uses the camera led and is quite brite. It also has a Zippo lighter that is fun to play with. This thing is the ultimate toy. My wife told me that this phone might make her obsolete. I don't think so.

That reminds me of the old couple I have seen in the bus about two years ago. About 70 years old. He had an iPhone and tried to explain his wife all the good things about it. He was really enthusiastic about it and I believe he knew what he could do with it, but you should have seen his wife. She wasn't interested at all, and the look on her face

Congrats! The iPhone is indeed great. However, people who buy into Apple's "retina display" marketing should be shot  Yes it's high res, but it's a 640x960 screen and not a "retina display", heck it doesn't even classify as a HD display. When they make a screen that has the same resolution as the human eye (several hundred times that of the iPhone 4 screen, even with a low field of vision) THEN we can talk

Too right it is.  I got to play with said display recently and I certainly can't tell one pixel from another until I'm holding it around 15cm from my face and then its a struggle.  Its certainly the best display I've handled.

Keep in mind two weeks a go i got my first TV without a tube. For me i was impressed with the screen. It is a lot better than any other phone i have owned heck my first one was in a big bag and you could only make phone calls with it. I know a lot of people don't like Apple stuff for me their products are a lot easer to to use. If it was not for iTunes i don't know if i ever would have learned how to down load music and burn CDs. Heck i can remember my  watching a 12 inch or smaller B&W TV in a big wood cabinet in the 60s that only got three channels.

I know a lot of people don't like Apple stuff for me their products are a lot easer to to use.

 Heck i can remember my  watching a 12 inch or smaller B&W TV in a big wood cabinet in the 60s that only got three channels.

The "problem" with the iPhone 4 display resolution is the physical limitations. Fingers haven't gotten smaller, so you still need a certain part of the screen for navigational controls. I'm not saying that the iPhone 4's resolution isn't ridiculously awesome of course, I'm just saying that I'd rather have the iPad with the bigger screen and not really that much higher resolution (or, of course, both ).

Also, Apple was practically forced to up the resolution that much. 640x960 is EXACTLY 4 times the resolution of the old iPhone, which means every pixel on the old iPhone is 4 on the new one. That of course means that compatibility between the two is super simple, because you don't have to compensate for different aspect ratios, and you can just downscale the i4 res apps or display every pixel int he i3> apps 4 times.

That however, makes me wonder how the iPad 2 will look. If they do the same, it will have a 2048x1536 screen. Which is possible, but requires a lot from the graphics chip. I think Apple should have gone with a 1920x1200 screen on the ipod from the start, to make it more future proof and not to mention make it directly compatible with 1080p content. Or even better, 1920x1280 since that is 4x the iPhone 4 screen and so it would make it  more compatible with non-ipad apps.

I have the Commuter for 3G which is also great - it's a shame to cover up these things in cases, but replacing screens is a PITA!
