That is a very use full machine
Do you know if they do a 'leather strop' belt for it

Yes they actually do, check leevalley.com, they have belts up to 2000 grit and leather belt.

There is a lengthy thread on the Worksharp over at Bladeforums. IIRC the general consensus was not to waste your $ on it. You would be better off with the 1x30 Harbor Freight belt sander and get the belts and be on your way. I tried that method and moved onto the Edgepro. These days I'm using paper wheels for sharpening.
