IMHO I would say that when it comes to getting cutting compound on to a strop a heat gun or hair drier is the way to go

Yep I thought they were very good
I think I had picked up most of it from lots of different places,
It was nice to see it all in one place and I liked the big bits of wood he used
I wish I had seen these years ago

I also use mouse pad and sandpaper to sharpen my knives, and after I'm done with the sandpaper I just finish with a few strokes on leather strop with green compound.
Great videos, helped me a lot when I was learning the basics!
