I've always wanted a Tag but they remain out of my budget  :-\

I mostly wear Citizens and Seikos and one G-shock I'm good friends with :)

My battery run out on my F1 so yesterday I took it to a Tag retailer who told me it would require a 6 week wait and would cost £40-45  :o  Walked round the corner to a watchmakers who charged me £6 and did it in 5 mins.  :D
I'm back!!

Nope, F1's are Quartz, hense how I could afford one (it was used as well  :D).

Auto's are no good in my work anyways.  I need them spot on all the time and they get hit - a lot.

I would have to say the Rolex Submariner.  I'm not a big fan, but it seems to be the base design for pretty much every dive style or sport watch that has come since.

I'm gonna vote for the classic Timex Military quartz watch. There's been a buttload of these sold over the years.

It's this one.

This was the one that sprung into my mind.  Rolex is a famous brand but as people have said, not many people know their individual watches. Everyone must know someone who had that Casio though.

My F1 is a non-chrono model (unlike that one).  It's also older.

What a joker! Glad you got it sorted.

I ended up buying a few basic tools for messing with my watches so I don't have to pay someone else to do 2 minute jobs any more.

gunga,

I picked up one of these Android Watch tool kits a while back, and have used it for all of my watches......... http://www.shopnbc.com/Android_Watch_Tool_Kit/J172585.aspx?storeid=1&cm_re=SearchList-_-N-_-N&prop=Watches|229&prop=Watch%20Accessories|468 ...........it has everything you pretty much need for maintaining your watches.

Island Watch sells a similar kit as well (bottom of page)........ http://www.longislandwatch.com/Watch-Tools.htm

If you own watches...kits like these are time, and money, savers.

I hate to say it, but for me the most recognized watch is perhaps one of the most popular ones out there from a few years ago- the Timex Ironman.

(Image removed from quote.)

I think it's still around, but in a very different, updated format, but the classic two button design was probably the most common watch through most of the 90's.  I know I had one, as did my brother and my father, and when I worked in watch & jewelry repair in the mid 90's, I had a few hundred of them pass through my hands.

Def

Yup, I'm with you on this one as well.  I've had a few of these over the years and put 'em
through hell at work.  Never once had one fail or even a battery die out, just replace them
because they get bashed and scratched it gets hard to focus on the display. :)

If you're asking about a specific model, I would say Rolex Submariner.

I agree that Casio model lines are very recognizable and unmistakable, though.

Most recognizable logo? Rolex.

what i was supposed to say is that the little hands on that one confuse me, im not sure if its working correctly, you press the button and suddenly the second hand will shoot forwards a bit

If you are talking about the larger red hand, then that could still be ok as that one is for the chrono and does the seconds for the timing part, not the seconds for the time (if that makes any sense).  If the actual seconds dial (bottom one) moves after a button press, then something would be wrong there.

I think it's a Rolex. While I love my G-Shocks dearly, when you say Rolex, people know you're talking about a watch.

Got to be a Rolex.  One of the most copied as well.

Yep.

My guess would be the Rolex DateJust. Pretty sure it's been their all-time best selling model in its various configurations. It's also the most copied (until recent years, maybe with the surge in interest in tool watches -- divers in particular and all the Submariner clones). Seems like every respectable and non-respectable company out there has a "dress" model that mimics the Datejust.

Brand-wise I'd say a toss up between Seiko, Casio, and maybe Rolex. I say maybe Rolex only because the majority of the world population lives in fairly poverty stricken areas of Asia and are far more likely to have seen a Casio or Seiko than even a picture of a Rolex.
Let us therefore open the book of Nature and read in her records.

I have alot of watches, just another bug I have. I own the Seiko "Black Monster". I own many G-Shocks. Neither of them come close as far as getting any comments as my Luminox EVO. It seems like I get more "Oh, is that a Luminox?" comments than I care to get. I don't think I've ever got any comments on either of the others.
