93mm alox with scissors 2011?
on: November 16, 2010, 11:43:24 PM
2011 may be the year of the rabbit, but I also belive it should be the year of scissors on 93mm alox saks.

I dont know if victorinox post here, but im sure they are aware of us here at MTO.
i havent been posting for a while, but i have since got a silver farmer (my 1st alox), and after reading simillar posts about how alox justs needs scissors, i think we should let them know how we feel.

if the world of MTO joins in im sure victorinox will listen ;)

so post your vote of support and lets see if we can make this happen. :pok:

all the best

Would be nice, but it's not going to happen.  They'd have to create a new back spring and drill the 91mm scissors for larger pivot pins.  Not enough folks would buy it to justify the cost.

Yeah, I'd buy one without hesitation (and I would bet anyone reading this would, too), but I'm guessing one of the things that has made Vic's line-up so successful is being able to produce such a wide variety of models with zero retooling (but I'm still learning about Vic and her history, etc., so I could be waaaay off base here ;) ).

Let us therefore open the book of Nature and read in her records.

Actually, there have been some misused tools making it onto SAKs, especially with the 93mm line having various sizes of bottle openers, and some of the combo tools of the 111mm line actually coming from 91mm knives, though it's rather uncommon.

If a Blue Alox Farmer became available with scissors from the factory, I'd buy a dozen!

Are the scissors from the 111mm tools like the WorkChamp just 91mm scissors with a bigger hole in them?
Half-ass done wholeheartedly!

I think any size alox above 58mm with scissors would be hugely welcome  :tu:

No, I believe that the slide-lock 111mm models have the same pin size as the 91mm models.  The liner lock 111mm models have a slightly larger pin.
