Greetings!

I figured this is as good a spot as any for a first post!  I have several Leatherman branded MTs, Wave BO, ST 300, Surge, Blast BO, Wingman and Rebar.  However, the one that I am most excited about is the Charge tti that will be in route on Monday!

Just a little back story...  I have been eyeballing these for a while now.  When the current, new version was released, I got really itchy.  Last night I was combing some websites and 'the BAY' comparing prices and stopped at an auction that has one listed as "New other (see details)" for 94.00.  Needless to say I was intrigued.  I clicked on the auction to discover that it was engraved with the sentiment "Will Scully Happy 40th", and was bought by the seller in a lost mail auction.  I was contemplating buying it when I happened to mouse over a good shot of the tool and zoomed in on the blade.  Not s30v, but damascus!    I couldn't click buy now quite fast enough.  Tickled that I will soon have a new EDC that, I fear, will start a problem all over again.  I can see more than one of these in my corral in the near future.

Thanks for listening (reading) and I will certainly post pictures as it arrives!

ETA:  Here is a link to the page if you want to get an early peek... http://www.ebay.com/itm/321355409743?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

It all depends on your needs/wants in tools and handle materials as well as if you want a cap crimper pliers head or not.

Likewise. I need one of those.

I had to visit the US Cabela's web site as the Canadian one is a bit of a joke. They only show the older camo exclusive, and an orange Wave. Yeah, i definitely need both the newer Charge Camo and that orange Wave. Of course, I can't just order them like I could in the past.

Yup. Closes like it was meant to be built that way. It doesn't have the blade retention pieces anymore, so it gives the scissors room to sit lower. Plus with the bit exchanger on the other side, the pliers can sit deeper in that handle anyway.

I did not dare to do it on my Wave because there is also the spring for the lock.....that is one reason why I now have a Wave with two bit exchangers :) Maybe you have a pic inside the handle of your Charge?

I'll see if I can take one tonight after work.

I actually drilled out the rivet and removed the knife retention piece and then re-riveted the lock tab back in place. Frees up a lot of room. Did the same thing to my Wave when I modded it (of course the Wave was done first in case I jacked it up).

I start to give my Charge TTi a beautification :D
First.......I disassembled the Charge and polished the handles.

Before:

After:

The Titan handles were then treated with Microblast with ceramic beads.......looks brighter than before :D

Tomorrow you can have a look at the new color of the handles, I hope they look good after coating :)

So, here are the handles :)

I`ve coated them with a double layer coating, tungsten plus DLC. The color changes with the light, sometimes they look like the normal handles only a little bit darker and sometimes they look black.

So whats next.......I can`t tell, it's a surprise :D But if everything goes as I imagine it I will finish the Charge next weekend :tu:
