Octane "Wire Cutters" ?
on: January 05, 2011, 05:32:06 PM
I failed to cut some wire with my Octane because the "wire cutters" don't overlap or for their intended purpose even meet flush together.  Are they supposed to cut?

I think they just touch but poorly. I find the flick and new tools have ineffective cutters

The diesel has better cutters.. I think it is the last gerber with good cutters but I don't remember what the strata or grappler have. They may be decent

The cutters on my Octane line very well...  I've never tried to cut wire with them though, just things like zip-ties and plastic strapping, which they work pretty well for.  Not really interested in trying them on any real wire because they don't look like they'd hold up very well.  I carry my Octane when biking, so I may eventually need to use it to cut a cable or something, but I hope not.  I carry it when biking because it's light, not because it's a great tool.
