No they are super stiff, one of the reasons I preferred the preceding lock system on
the tool.  I bought a new version with piano locks emptied the tools out of it and
it stays in my garage and makes a great wire cutter.  I took the tools and used them
to mod out my other Sog's. :)
Not sure I really understand what you mean though, if you can't make the tools fail
then how would the piano locks be weak?   :)

Ryan, did you mean to say you CAN make the locks fail by simply pressing your thumb on the tools? ???
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

sometimes I've noticed the piano lock won't fully engage into the tool slot without some
wiggling around?  Is it with all the tools or just a couple?

I'm guessing it could be any number of things, piano keys off kilter with the pin holding
the tools, or maybe it is a weak spring, I know I checked my power assist and can't
make the tools fail.  Sog does have a good warranty system so if your so inclined you
might want to mail it off to them and they will take a look at it for you? :)

The old flat style lock is my preference.  I hope SOG realizes their mistake and goes back to the previous lock.
