EVO 17 Mike Horn? When is it going to be released

I just ran across this:

This was loaded on 2/6/2011. I can't find much information on this knife, other than it is coming out in 2011. Is it officially released yet? Wenger's site doesn't cover it.

Mike Horn is running a giveaway on Facebook at the moment, so they must be in production already. Not sure about availability

I have 6 of the Mike Horn EVO 17s ordered. Probably delivery in a couple of weeks. They are pricey with MSRP of close to $78. (don't worry, that won't be my price

I'm waiting, but at that MSRP they should have a locking blade (i.e. S17).

I have the original Mike Horn and really like the looks of the recycled handle material. Frankly, I haven't carried the knife: big and heavy, expensive, don't like the loose screwdriver bits, wrong tool set for me. However, I see no reason why the recycled material wouldn't hold up very well, better than cellidor. Someone mentioned that the new Mike Horn EVO17 will be expensive. I find it ironic that the recycled stuff is more expensive than the new plastic. It is very nice looking, though, IMHO.

LightFR, look at the first post. The knife you posted is the Mike Horn Ranger (released last year), not the new EVO-17 Mike Horn.

This might be a love it or hate it senario. I have a feeling though it will feel great in the hand and that will convert some. Hopefully they will use the same/scales in another series. The price though makes it a bit of a probelm, maybe they can work on that, it's more than the Porsche Design models.

My EVO 17 showed up today, and it's everything I was expecting. It's pretty well just a regular EVO 17, only with the fancy Mike Horn recycled bottle/woodchip scales and logo, so I'm not sure how much of a mass market knife it'll be, but I think a collector or Mike Horn follower would appreciate it for what it is. I know I do. I'll get some pictures out tomorrow when I have some decent light.

I received my Mike Horn Evo 17 Souvenir model today. This one really looks like a nice user. The polish seems pretty high on all the tools as well, and the fit and finish seem very high quality. Has a great feel in the hand, and would make a really nice EDC. It could be slightly better though...

While the scales do appear to be of a very similar composition to the Mike Horn Ranger, they have a much glossier and smooth finish. The MH Logo and the Wenger logos are also a bit brighter. I prefer the more matte finish and texture on the Ranger, but this is a really nice knife.
