New 4sevens With Custom Neck Lanyard
on: March 07, 2011, 08:44:43 PM
I traded for this light an I'm loving it. On high it puts out 210 lumens. Holy cow! It was to small for my pocket, too big for my keyring, and the neck lanyard that came with it was 2 plain so I made one. Whatcha think?

BTW the one thing I really don't like about the light is CR123 I much prefer AA battries.

Nice setup all around. :tu:  Hopefully the light serves you well.  I'm pretty much
done with cr/rcr123's though.

I hear you!  I've hit that wall many times, because of the low capacity of RCR123, and expense of CR123.  However, I'm finally using them again since I have a more efficient light that will run an RCR123 at 120 lumens for over 1 hour.  I run Li-Ion every day and keep CR123 only for emergency backup.

Nice light Ashley!  I have the AA version.  I run 14500 Li-Ion in that one and carry Eneloops for backup.

Heh, I was faced with the dilemma of choosing between this and the preon revo a while ago to use up some store credit. Eventually ended up with the revo ss though.

I like 123a though, cheap when bought in bulk and works in cold. But I prefer 2x123a lights over single cell.

Yeah with those single cell 123's your kind of limited to using just those.  However,
I'm quite happy to be using the 17670's as a replacement for lights using 2-cr123's.

This is my first CR123 but so far it seems alright. I really don't like the idea of them not being as easy to find as AA or something similar but for now its seems pretty good.

As long as you stay on this part of earth you can find 123a in pretty much any store, might not be always cheap but they are there.

Treu but if I stop someone and ask for a battery I would have better luck getting a AA or similar.
