VICTORINOX SBB-CFF
on: April 12, 2011, 01:26:32 AM
Why is this knife climbing so fast on Ebay??   I was looking in SakWiki and is says
1. An official Swiss railway version; the silver Alox scales with plain cross have SBB-CFF stamped in a Panel on the top scale.
2. Some samples with blades dated '98' have turned up.
Is it because the date stamp is a 1999?
5 days to go and it is already at $170.oo   :o :o :o
What am I missing?
Ebay  Item number: 280658170930 The jpeg is from EBay

Don't know for sure, but it does have a rare tool set (that little flat driver).

No special reason, probably two people want it really badly. As you know, rare Alox gets crazy prices sometimes. It is a pretty cool knife.

I'm guessing "SBB-CFF" and on a Technician to boot.... does not happen very often that I've seen.

Probably a couple of dolts who don't know any better! These things sell for about $1.50 at the local flee market right?

Apart from the Electrician and Technician, is there any other model which have the SBB-CFF plate?

I did read somewhere that there was an Apprentice with the SBB-CFF plate.
Will post it when I find the info again.

Oh OH The train ran off the track or the market crashed again. The $170 Ebay knife dropped to $30. Does anyone know why?

Yes, I also noticed the bid had dropped on this auction. As near as I can tell there were two bidders upping each other until the bid reached $170. Now one of the bidders has retracted his bids for the reason of "cannot contact seller".

If I understand correctly the remaining bidder's bids will still stand so anyone else who wanted to put in a bid would need to go up to around $170 to compete. I've never seen a situation like this before.

I see another person has now bid on this but they are far below the going bid.
