does anyone have an unwanted verizon phone?
on: March 13, 2011, 08:51:42 PM
I know verizon Is not popular here but it is the only phone that gives me reception where I live and my contract was through my company. I am aloud up to five phones so my wife, my two sons, my oldest daughter, have one and my youngest and myself share one. We dont have internet service on our phones. The point is, my daughter drops hers so hers is broken, Mine is very old fashion with a cracked screen, and one of my sons wont hold a charge. My hours are slow at work so I dont want to sign a new contract at this time and be obligated to another two years. If you have an unwanted phone for very cheap or you could donate please pm me.

I have an old Verizon chocolate that's in reasonable shape.  I'd be willing to send it on.

PM me.

Stack, you should pm Whippy with your address.  It's safer than posting it out in the open.

Thanks to Mr. Whippy, I am able to replace my daughters phone with one that is not broken. I still need one or two more to replace the other bad ones so if you have one you would like to sell very cheap or donate. It would be very greatly appreciated.  :)

can you not just unlock the phone and put in the verizon sim?
The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer.

Stack:  Does it need to be CDMA or GSM?  I have an old Alltel phone that should be compatible, given that Verizon bought out a massive chunk of Alltel's service area.  The only problem with the phone is that the battery in it will only last a day before needing to be charged, and I no longer have a charger cord for it. :/

I dont think verison has a sim. I could be wrong though.

I think it may be compatible. If you know what kind of phone it is, I can call verizon to find out for sure.  Very much appreciated. :tu:

I can't promise the battery lasts for more than a day, but it has my old battery from my same-model phone, which provided a much better charge than my mum's dud battery (my mum and I both got a 2-for-1 special back in the day; this model is some years old, but honestly, is my favorite phone to date, poor resolution camera aside).

It's a Nokia 6265i, and I'd still be using mine, myself, if I could source a new battery for it - and if it had a 2 MP camera. :/

In doing some cleaning, I found a belt case for it, too, if you can stand having a button with the letter 'T' on the exterior. :)

[Edit:  According to here, the phone was also offered through Verizon itself, so it should work fine.  The battery is currently dead in the phone, so I can't turn it on to test the battery life, but I do know that some old TracFone chargers worked on it, and that the phone's OS is fine. :tu:]
