Many years later, I bought a more modern PC... it was a 486/66mhz, 4mb RAM (upgradable to 20mb), 460mb harddrive, no CD-rom, 14.4k modem. I thought it was the best computer ever and that I would never have to buy upgrade or buy another computer ever again. lol
This whole thread is making me want to find an old Macintosh all-in-one to make into an aquarium. I typed a lot of papers on those old monochrome bricks. My college orientation class included a lot of stuff about the internet. The "internet" being Archie searches and Gopher lookups, with what web browsing we did being through Lynx. You really don't know from horrible until you try and browse a website in a text-only browser. Also, some time was spent playing MUDs on green-screened Unix dumb terminals until I decided that such activity was even too dorky for *me*.I'm fairly sure that the "ancient" laptop in the OP has more horsepower than my current desktop

Actually, Lynx is still around, with it's latest stable release being half a year ago; I was eying it two weeks ago, contemplating trying it out. >.>
