Why didnt I see this thread earlier  ::) Sorry guys  :-[ Been talking about it on British blades , sorry  :-[
Well the danger time was at 06.00hrs today and as you may know I live about 150 yards from the beach so I was a bit concerned . We have procedures in place with flood wardens and sirens . There was very little chance of the lifeboat being launched as the flood gates on the sea defences where shut so we couldnt launch . And to be honest the sea was very big and probably just over our safe operating .If we had of flooded we would have been very busy inland as I'm sure you can imagine . Anyway I was due to leave for work at about 04.50 and the danger time was about 06.00hrs and I wasnt happy leaving my family in case they had to evacuate . So I had the day off work  ;) and spent the very early part of the morning up at the boat shed ( which is next to the flood barrier ) drinking coffee and chatting to my Coxswain , the flood warden and anyone else daft enough to get out of bed and go down to the beach in a gale at that time of the morning  :D My village was very lucky but there was some flooding in other places but nothing too severe .We did wonder at one point if we would be called to take our boat to the " Broads " an inland river system in Norfolk because if sea water had entered them then there really would have been some bad flooding quite far inland . I'm starting to run on a bit now  ::) Heres some pics I took at about 07.00hrs there not very good as the light was low and I was being blown about quite alot . The main thing is were all safe and sound . Thanks for all being concerned .

Glad to hear you're ok. Some nice rough seas there, would have been 'interesting' taking any sort of boat out in that!
