As the title says my "Incredible Package of Awesomeness" came yesterday.  :ahhh :D :D

That surely has to rank as one of the greatest single packages ever received Allan! 8) Congrats! :salute:

That Buck of yours is indeed pretty special. They only made the black ones for about three years. Yours has the original style plier head, whereas most of the (admittedly very few) black ones I've seen have the newer style pliers. :)

I have an original First Production Run Bucktool from 1996 with a plier head that looks like this:



Note the "stop support" cast into the plier, which when fully open rests against the handle. This seems like a good idea, as it would add strength to the design. :) Also, it doesn't take up any space when the tool is folded nor does it stick out and get in the way. :)




Yet for some odd reason, Buck seems to have removed the stop support on later models...? :think:




Both styles seem to work equally well, so its a mystery to me why they changed it ???

This is all sweet stuff... I really need to get some scales for my champ. I've used it as a workhorse and although I love them being battered up I get the feeling theres a lot of difference between battered and destroyed.
