Hi
Not sure some of you remember my question on the slide-lock used on 111mm with example Rucksack in 2008, we know that all locks is to prevent accidental closing, in the reply from Victorinox it was mentioned 10,8Nm not to be exceeded. We know force aginst any lock is not!
This just for the interest and developing of tools, also alittle on Victorinox constant improving of tools. This range of knives has been used both for professionals and civilians, Victorinox mentioned that they ment that this range was not strong enough for the services so they developed the liner-lock knives, that we know are stronger built.
I found a patent application from around 1985, so this range was probarbly around 1986 or so.
In the reply from Ibach at the end of 2008 they mentioned:
"At the moment we are developing an improving the spring for the locking blade and slider system"
Justa few days ago i got a reply from Ibach, they sad this had been done with success:
"successfully improved the mechanical properties of the locking blade with slider system at the end of last year."
I do not know what they have done, i have not found one yet, A Rucksack, but i will

However i was foresighted enough to ask for a way to identify the improved ones:
"It can be identified by the part where the key ring is attached to the knife without destroying the tool. This modification has only been chosen due to ergonomics and more cost-efficient production of the parts.!
AgAin i do not know if it is stronger, it is improved anyhow
