My Leathermans must hate me
on: May 01, 2011, 09:27:14 AM
So far this month I have 2 tools which need to go back for warranty repair.

The sheepsfoot blade on my ST300 bent while cutting some strapping and now the tool is a PITA to open/close.

So I went back to carrying my ChALX, and than the pliers head on that tool snapped while pulling a bent cotter pin!

Now I am out my two heavy EDC tools!

I think I also bent the pivot on my S2 on that same cotter pin, and loosened up the scales.

Has anyone else snapped the pliers on a medium or heavy MT?

For now I guess I am down to a Skeletool, which is somewhat depressing.

you need a wave  :D  bad luck mate, i must say im not too hard on my MT's and only use them when really needed, but my old wave i carried in my tool box for years and really knocked it about with no real issues, fingers crossed on future LM's

I did manage to break the tip off one side of the pliers on my original Supertool. :-\  Didn't send it in mind you, I just carefully broke the other side to match. :D

Well I have a Surge coming my way. Hopefully that will suffice till my others get back from their journey.
I can't believe I have broken two heavy use tools so close together. I don't think I was abusing either of them. I have used them for the exact tasks they broke on many times.

That cotter pin seems to be a bit of a killer...
I've never broken a Supertool or Charge, but I have broken a Skeletool and a Juice Kf4.  Still waiting (and hoping) that Skeletool comes back with a plain edge blade.  I did request it.

Thanks Ash.

I'm currently suffering from some serious Multi-tool separation anxiety...
