Ordering from SOG:a question for non us members
on: August 10, 2011, 01:01:49 AM
I've been in contact with SOG directly about buying some components.Thier customer service bods have been very good, but in order to action the purchase I need to email card details to them.

Have any of you outside of the US and Canada ordered from SOG and was this how it went with you?

That sounds iffy to me. Emails aren't a secure way of handling credit card data. I would never email my card details to anyone!!

If you're concerned (and don't come up with another option) you could always try speaking to Heinnie Hayes to get parts through them ... but obviously they are going to want a few quid out of it

This US Ebay seller has a pretty good range of SOG parts & they ship to the UK , might be a easier option

I've  ordered parts from this seller several times when I lived in Norway. They're very good. I would go with Mat's suggestion.

I had the same response from SOG, that is one thing I will not do is to send CC data via email. I went to Heinnie Haynes for a nylon pouch, got it the next day!

When you contact this seller, include your email address. This will help you avoid eBayneezer's outrageous fees and will save you much on shipping. Or, PM me for more info.

Then, when ever you get to Seattle, join me for a beverage
