Sgt Bash - Trade
on: August 05, 2011, 06:19:24 PM
I recently put up for trade my Spyderco UKPK. Sgt Bash contacted me with an offer I couldn't refuse. A Leatherman Wave (post 2004) and a storm grey P4 Squirt.

Well I got home today to discover a package, opened it up and low and behold the Wave and Squirt had arrived. The Wave is 0411 on both handles, brand new :). Great packing and fast delivery from the Netherlands.

This was the first time I traded with someone abroad. After I had sent my parcel on Monday 1st August I emailed Sgt Bash to let him know. I got no reply so I tried again on Tuesday, got no reply again. I was pretty worried that I had just gave away my UKPK for free. Finding the tread where Sgt Bash posted his trade I noticed he had been online on the Wednesday and announced the trade had been done. I was a bit confused why he hadn't replied to me. I wrote on that thread suggesting I had been done. Sgt Bash promptly contacted me and assured me everything was fine, even showing a picture of his receipt. He said he PM'ed me, unfortunately I never got the initial replies. So in conclusion to this long winded story I have to apologise to Sgt Bash again for my distrust and say that it was a trade completed successfully. I have learned that its best to swap email addresses for easier communication as well.

I highly recommend Sgt Bash as a genuine trader.

Colin

Interesting.

Are you saying you sent PM's and he sent PM's but they didn't get delivered?  Or were they delivered but you never received an email notification?  On a forum with mucho trading/sales, having a dodgy PM system is serious business.

If you'd like, you can send me a more detailed message via PM (assuming it working  ;))

Hi Mr. Whippy,

I sent 2 PM's, one on Monday and one on Tuesday. I never got a reply. Then after I commented on his thread about the trade he then PM'd me on Wednesday. He told me he had replied to my PM's on the previous days, I did not receive then. Sgt Bash replied to my post on his thread;

Whoooa Colin..cool your boots guy. Nobody has been had.  :ahhh

I have sent two PMs in reply to you including a TNT tracking number for the Leatherman. Both PMs were saent on Monday. I will send again to make sure. Maybe I stuffed up the PMs. I'll check.

So the only messages not received were the two he sent on Monday replying to my PM (which of course I got a bit upset not receiving any hence my comment on the tread, which I later changed to a thumbs up out of respect for Sgt Bash). All other communication was fine. Like Sgt Bash said he may have made an error but I would imagine he used the reply button so it could possible be system error. Other than that all the PM's I have sent and received have been fine. It was unfortunate that it happened on these crucial PM's which is why I was worried and perhaps overreacted.

Hi guys,

Firstly, thanks Colin for the feedback. Kudos guy. The same back atcha  I received a sparkling spyderco UKPK and I'm chuffed to bits.

As for the PM's, Mr Whippy, I think that was my bag. I think the page refreshed before I clicked send and I forgot to keep a copy in my Sent Items. Sooo, I thought - PM's sent, no probs. The lack of comms caused Colin to worry and I had no idea until I saw the thread that something was fubarred.

I don't think its a forum prob just me being stoopid.  :-[

Thanks again Colin.  :salute:
