  • Plants should be smoked, not eaten.
There's also a mention of Swiss Army Knives in the article so it's tool related as well.  :climber:

  • I'm not a pessimist, I'm an experienced optimist!
::) As if these companies are fussed about eco issues.  :crash:

Cost is the only reason they'll move to other packaging, just like the others that have moved to paper free billing, foreign call centres and .... wait a minute .... swapped from round bottles to square to save plastic? A square bottle uses more doesn't it? Denser packed items DOES mean cheaper shipping to stores, less warehouse space, more items on shelf, blah blah blah ... don't you just hate it when firms dish out such twaddle when their only motivation is their own margins.

Save five pence per item and knock three pence off for the consumer - great - but don't try and tell us you're saving the planet

It may be the capitalist in me but I don't blame the companies for all this. If people would show a little honesty and not steal crap we wouldn't have this problem.

Agreed. It's about saving money not saving the earth. :(

Well I'm glad that at least it didn't go the other direction (like using more non-environmental friendly packaging to replace the clamshell)
You have the right tool... but do you know how to use it the right way?

When I spoke with one of the Vic rep at their road tour, he mentioned they are going to something like Leatherman uses, with partial plastic front shell and cardboard main card.

Of course the down side is THIS.

wonder how many lawsuits get filed each year by folks shoving a blade thru their hand opening those packs.

I for one like a nice box when i buy a knife or tool. Kinda like when you buy a Case knife...but i have seen Case in blister packs now and then.. :P

I want my stuff packaged like it came from Apple.
