Brooklands part 2(pic heavy)
on: July 24, 2011, 07:21:25 PM
As well as the remains of the awe inspiring track,Brooklands has very impresive collections of planes relating to local history, and cars and bikes that raced at Brooklands.

Heres the cars and bikes

The Naiper Railton, when excessive power isnt enough use a 24 liter(dont even wanna guess the cu in).It set the lap records back in 37,at an average at 137mph.The recors still stands

Wolsey Hornet,from the early 20s

Austin & based special,Lapped at 80mph average!

Sir Malcom Campbell was a regular racer back in the day,the first Bluebirds being built to race on the Banking.Needless to say this Bluebirs is more contempory, used by his Grandson to set and Electric powered LSR.

The Aston Martin Razor Blade!

Yours truely getting on the leaderboard on the F1 simulator

Looks fantastic mate. I was in the Lake District a few weeks ago and was at the local motor museum, they had a dedicated section to Sir Malcolm Campbell with some fantastic re-constructions of some of the various Bluebirds.
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

Hey Gareth dont be holding out on us on the pix mate! :pok: :pok:

And now the bikes....

Brough Superior, the only brand of motor bike to have its top speed guarenteed in writing, and given permission to say the were the Rolls Royce of motobikes!

Proving theres nothing new in this world,Triumph Ricardo with 4valve head

and lastly, from Kingston in Thames(just down the road from me)

Built in the Sopwith factory(yes as in Sopwith Camel) by ABC,the great granddaddy of the Vespa! On a tangent, the Sopwith factory went on to become Hawkers...

an early Campbell car in Bluebird colours

Arresting people in style.

Three of Campbell's vehicles (at least one is a mock-up sadly)
