Any non-tool related crafting going on?
on: August 06, 2011, 07:54:55 AM
These are Goldsaber .40S&W bullets after being fired through a row of water jugs and the lead core falls out.

Then they get another unfired bullet for a 7mm rifle soldered to the bottom for a base, a Barnes solid copper .40 cal. for the bud, a copper stem and finally gold and silver wire that's been torched to melt the end into a little blob for the stamens.

Some wedding rings I made from stainless damascus. Both with tension set sapphires, one in a platinum bezel.

Some of the first jewelry I ever made about 12 years ago in titanium and timascus.

And I like to try my hand at tsubako once in a while.

 Brilliant Allan. :D

But maybe not quite in the same league as bushido's stuff.  That's very impressive mate, and my wife agrees. :salute:

That is stunning stuff right there. I love the octo on your flicker link. I had a thing for the fancy teapots for a while, had a nice collection going and then I decided to give them all to my mother for safe keeping. I volunteered at the Kansas City Clay Guild for a few years but I always seemed to spend more time fixing the place up than working with clay. I thought it would be an easy medium for a guy that can focus on a tiny piece of titanium for days but it's not. The stuff drives me crazy. I've always been most envious of the clay workers and the glass blowers.

Do you mind if I post a link and those pictures on another forum I frequent?

bushidomosquito,

I posted the pictures on another forum and I had someone ask if you were interested in making some .45 ACP flowers to sell. I told him I was not sure if you were selling them or not but I would find out.  :D

Well, I'm a .40S&W guy. Anybody that wants a different caliber would have to send me the jackets already expanded. I used to do this as a way to shoot high quality ammo for fun. I'd put a few boxes into water jugs and make the best looking jackets into flowers to sell and pay for my ammo. Cheaper and less work than reloading.
