Hex nut to Torx?
on: August 17, 2011, 07:43:43 AM
My powerlock and pocket plier, both have Torx instead of Hex nut, to retain the components. Whilst I do not at this stage wish to replace any of the components, I would like to know what is the appropriate tool to do the job, as the last thing I want is a ruined nut.

I did email SOG, as their website indicates Hex nuts whilst changing components, but says nothing about the Torx! but no reply to date.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

A correction, it appears that the screw is not a Torx but Hex, the nearest tool maybe a #2 hex driver.
I would still appreciate a definitive answer, if anyone can provide one.

Thanks

Well, the new fasteners actually use a hex driver, aka Allen wrench.

I just did a few tools swaps on my PPP the other day actually. Both a 5/64" hex and a 2mm hex fit quite nicely.
