Charge/Surge S2 Clip?
on: August 31, 2011, 08:44:09 AM
Is it possible to create an offset flashlight holder for a Serac S2 that attaches to a Charge via the pocket clip area?

Seems at times need like three hands to use a flashlight, and I would hate to end up swallowing my Serac S2.
Although I had an idea to mount a flashlight to a 2 strap frog with an elastic tube to hold a light, Leatherman never replied to that idea.

Was rethinking about a small thin light to piggy-back on the Charge, Surge, and Wave. Originally had the idea of using a thin button cell LED light that would attach via the pocket clip area. Then was looking at my Serac S2 and the pocket clip and wondering.... what if...

So, the idea hit me to fabricate a pocket clip to hold a small light like the Serac S2 (or the like). This would offset slightly into the middle, so the light could be used with the pliers in use.
But... what of the other tools, like cutting something at night where one hand is on the material and the other on the tool. Could the light be inverted in the clip and shine properly if offset?

:pok: Just a idea I'd thought would share.

Maybe you can use an cheap faux-ton, it wouldn't increase the profile too much either.

This sounds like a great idea. I have so many of those damn lanyard clips I bet I could make one!
