Surge case question...56k please dont. LOL
on: January 05, 2008, 08:17:14 AM
First, Love the forum, been lurking for about 6 months, and finally signed up. Keep it up!!!

Now my real question, I just ordered a leather case for my surge. I think I may have gotten the wrong one. (I.E. the guy shipped me the wrong one.) The one I have is about 1/2 inch short of closing at the snap.

Here are some pics of it. Please let me know if this is the case for a wave instead of a surge. Thanks guys and girls.

I sold a surge with a leather case the other day - I don't think it had the elastic sides?, I think it may have been an old style one.

(I've got the Nylon case with my Surge, so I can't check that either)

On the topic of LM cases though - I reckon the hole for stuffing the tool in their whilst open is the kind of clever small thing that separates the chumps from the champs in this world.

Looks exactly like the Charge sheath I have on my belt as I type this. I have a hard time getting the Charge in there, I don't see any way for a Surge to fit.

^^^ Thats what I thought. Do either of you have a picture of your case? I really dont like the elastic on the sides. Working in a Fab shop and anything that melts is a bad idea. LOL

Do they make a FULL leather case for the Surge?

If I do I will post up some pics of it.

Would you happen to know where? I have had no luck in finding one that doesn't have the elastic sides.

Hmmm...I see what you mean now. The "Standard Leather Sheath" for the Surge has the elastic sides. My apologies, perhaps I spoke too soon. I wonder if the Standard Leather Sheath for the Core would work? (it is full leather)

Cool. Thank you. I was just gonna go out tomorrow and get some leather and make one. But if the core on will work, then I will go with that, and make one later just for fun.

Again, thank you guys!  :D

the all leather sheath i got with the combo set from costco [$45] didn't fit the surge right out of the box.  they sent me one that looks like yours only slightly bigger.

Just in case you don't believe LeathermanABC (though there is no reason not to), I'll see if I can get a Surge into the Core case tomorrow.

Surge fits in Core sheath fine - the One-Hand opening blades are a little tight, but I'm sure with use the leather will soften, distort, or do whatever it needs to do for a comfortable fit.

didn't get pictures, turns out I don't own a camera!

FYI.

The surge and Core also fit into the sheath for the leather sheath for the large "K" knives.  It's a perfect fit and looks much better.
