The good: recessed screws, wider spring, ST2 shaped sheepsfoot knife and removable wire cutters. :)

The bad: no hole in the awl, not a diamond-coated file, smurf serrations and ruler placement. :(

The other: what is the rivet for, do the removable wire cutters interfere when using the regular plier section, still no scissors and why can't they put stranded-wire cutters on a 4" tool?

Edit: I had failed to put the removable wire cutters in with the good.

I'm thinkin of starting an Awl owners club... I cant count how many times Ive heard "awl" in the last week alone. At any rate, i'll be anxious to see the rebar... Still not clicking with the name though. Hope they reconsider that.

Really like the Rebar. It's a great mix of "back to the roots" and innovation.

Now, let's add a diamond file and a bit changer. Perfection in a small package.

You may find this strange, least I did. Leatherman says they get more calls on what the large bit driver is and how it is used than any of the other tools - including the wire stripper that most don't even know exists.

While the bit changer is very handy it is hard to beat the proper Philips head or flat head  :tu:

Xelkos,
that's totally strange. Would never have guessed it.

Cerbera,
all true. Simple is always better. But I'm seeing more and more hex, Torx etc. So it's quite handy.

It's not cheap and it does add to bulk in the sheath, but the Removable Bit Driver will work with any tools using a regular Phillips:

WOOT! This looks better than anything they've made in this size for a while. And it has all the tools of my ST while being a little smaller and adding the upgraded cutters- I see buying two, one for my EDC and one for my BoB. Oh my, that is pretty, very, very pretty.

Any word on weight and MSRP?

Now if only they'd make a smaller, PST-class locking tool, a little brother for the Crunch. Maybe call it the Squish.

Just take off the Charge scales, grind down a set of new scales from rebar. Then be prepared to start selling rebar scales once you get the kinks wore out.

Of course you'd want to send a set to Juli for points.   :D
