Tang is a crossbow and shield is a normal inlaid. Solid scales.
I take it you're saying the obverse is the standard prior to the current, and the reverse is the crossbow O/ S/.
Any difference in the color of the scales (darker or lighter)?
Does it have a "Camping" inlay?
Knives used for premium sales were often solid, but unless the sheild is on the bottom scale there is no way to confirm that unless you see reminents of some printing. If it's late 60s early 70s the color could be slightly different. It seems in this period you could still get solid scales on some knives. Models like the Standard used solid scales with the standard sheild for quite a while.
I think it might have been Nikos, maybe some one will remember, did a little summary on the evolution of the basic mounting and internal design of the scales that might help date the knife.
I like the solid scales; hopefully you can just polish those if the person is not looking to gain the T&T.
