Please count me in. I am in the USA.
I am curious and have never seen a knife like this. How long can we keep them and what can you do/not do with them?

Figured I best start with pictures before they get beat up used (Image removed from quote.)First the big one (all pictures are clickable). The pouch is no frills but doesn't feel flimsy, should do the job fine. Here it is in all its bigness That's a hefty looking spine, it should take some hammer. The edge is about what you'd get on a hardware store bought axe. You could batten with it but cutting might be a challenge The handle is .... basic. Look at this bottom and those edges. Anything other than quick ocasional use is going to leave your hand sore Little one.Not sure about the size of the handle, might be a fraction too small and I have pretty average sized hands, time will tell. I don't like the pouch but that's just me I suspect. Its a thin blade, no whacking the back of this one. It also has a very slight curve at the tip.
Great pics neil, now get chopping

Nope It was meant to assist in tree felling duties but the tree in question has had a reprieve
Yes stabbing it in the eye; the only way to kill a pumpkin!!!!

The scales are oversize and the final grind is more of a gesture. Neil comparison with "store bought axe" was quite apt - it's down to the user to get the full potential out of these items. You can use them as they are, but you really need to do a little refining yourselves to get the best out of them. Feel free to do what you feel is needed guys. If there's a rough spot - get rid, if it needs a edge/profile tweak - then tweak away. Obviously we don't want to get to the end of the passaround with the big knife having been reduced to the size of the little one the hardness will only be so deep on steel of that thickness - otherwise it'd snap on you in chopping duties - but other than that feel free to do what's needed. Even if someone feels a better sheath is needed for example, feel free to knock one up (just include the original when you pass it on so the next guy can see what comes from the factory)Other than that, nice to hear your first impressions and look forward to your thoughts and pics as you put them into action
