Leatherman plier size/wire cutter ratio
on: October 09, 2011, 01:10:39 AM
Had to cut some hard wire mesh (screen, the green kind thats for the yard) to plug a fence spot where my dog escaped. Anyway, the squares are only a half inch or so and i really had trouble getting the plier tips through to get to the wire cutters. Finally had to get the smaller skeletool which worked much better. Anyone else run into that?

Around here they call that stuff "hardware cloth" John, although its not cloth at all, it is steel wire. The best way to cut it is with end nippers, also called side cutters, or dykes.

Too bad no one makes a sidecutter multitool :-\
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

I dont have or want a bunch of tools. As soon as I buy a new tool for a need, i never use it again. I take it back... I do have tools, most used once. So, I improvise with whatever is handy. At any rate, i got it done fast cause i have several leathermans and one worked good. Oh well

Amen to that. I wish, I wish upon a star.
