Watch case opener uses?
on: October 11, 2011, 05:23:27 PM
Anyone find any uses for the watch case opener blade, other than the obvious?  I'm thinking if getting a Wenger Watchmaker 85, since they tend to more readily available than the Vic.  thanks

I use one a lot for assisting in getting into electronic stuff.

I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

One of my most used SAKs.  I keep meaning to make an updated version based on how much I use what tools.  But its yet another project that gets put on the back burner  :-[

My Wenger fixed blade watch opener is my official SAK scale remover, and if needed I'd use it to dig into other electronic devices like Neil does. It's in the official working tool collection.

I've never used one to get into a watch, they should have screw-backs.

I have NIB Victorinox watch case knife in the 84mm size with nylon scales for sale. They seem to be still made just not that popular. I had it posted on EDCSource for over a month. Let me know if you are interested.

Huh... I never heard of that tool. Always learn something new here. :)

I've used the small driver on the can-opener tool  to pop open watch cases.

But my current watch doesn't use batteries, so no need to pop the case.

There were a time in watch history when you need to wind it daily, or from time to time... Or he's using a sand watch...  :pok: :pok: :pok:

My watch is automatic. It winds itself.  ;)

I think they made the back of it glass, so someone wouldn't pop the back off in a misguided attempt to change the battery.  ::)
