Because the SwissTool is perfect and Leathermans and Gerbers need a lot of work?  :P

Sorry, someone had to say it!

Mmhmm.  Now if only Victorinox could make a pocketclipped OH Spirit.  They could call it the Sideclip... or is that already taken? :D

I'm taking baby steps into the modding world especially since I don't have a dedicated workshop but, assuming I ever get it back from my wife, I intend to put a thumbstud on the blade of a Spirit X and cut a notch in the handle to make an OH Spirit. I love J-sews OHS but that is way past my capabilities

I do the next best thing:  I carry my Spirit often with a OHT or OH Forester; best of both worlds, plus having a second heavy-duty screwdriver comes in handy. :tu:

That works too but it sure is a pocketful, although the combined weight is still probably less than a Surge :o

I'd not know about pocketful; I carry my Spirit on my belt; the SAK goes in the watch pocket. ;)

LOL, this was the answer that sprung to mind when I read the title as well. :D  I'll even go as far as suggesting that there's an element of truth to it as well.  What I'm thinking is, just what would you add to one?  Of course there is a lot of personal preference to this but for most folks they cover all the tools you might want: awl, saw, file, scissors, etc etc.  Not saying there's no room for improvement at all, just that they're pretty comprehensive to start with. :)

I was thinking it had something to do with the rivets, but figured SAK'S have rivets and everyone mods those so no excuse not to mod a Swiss Tool. I also thought they are great how they are so no modding needed. It seems as most people are pretty pleased with the Swiss Tool (including me) right out of the box so no need for modding.
