Last night I slept with my Leatherman
on: October 13, 2011, 09:16:12 AM
I have not had much luck with the small key chain size tools. I have had and lost many Micra and when the Style came out I liked the idea of looping it on a belt strap. Last night, however, on a walk to the store I thought I heard something drop but didnt see anything in the dark on the ground so figured I was mistaken. Later I discovered my Style was missing. I was SURE that's what I heard and set out on my route to where I thought I heard it drop. Alas, it was either under a leaf, or someone else picked it up. I told myself "never again". No more mini tools! But tonight as I climbed into bed I felt something cold and metallic... I had slept with it the entire previous night. It had fallen into the bed when I had read my boy good night stories. Anyone else have an interesting leatherman lost then found story?

You know, I bow down to you. I haven't started to sleep with mine yet (they are close...just not in the bed). That is true dedication.  :pok:  :pok:  :D

Can't say that's ever happened to me with a multi-tool, but I have inadvertently fallen asleep with one of my zebralights on my shoulder while reading, or my Quark mini AA, and woken up in the middle of the night with it gouging me in the ribs or the like...

I have a similar story.
I got off the bus on my way home from the army, and the stupid bus driver missed my bus station so he dropped me off about half a mile after it on the side of the road. It was about 9 pm and I was jogging on the gravel back to where I live.
I had a Vic Skipper in an elastic sheath on my belt, kind of like the elastic pockets that leatherman sheaths have only a bit bigger.
A few minuted before I got home I noticed the SAK wasn't in it's sheath and I thought it must have slipped out while I was jogging.
I started making plans to go back the day after to look for it and hoping nobody drove off with it. I was kind of sad.
But as I got home and took off my backpack I found it hanging on the back of it from the tiny split ring.

I often have various opened folding knives sitting on my bed that I tend to forget about, one of these days I'm going to cut myself.

That is definitely not a good idea.  My wife would smurf a brick if I did that.  Of course, I have a young child so no knives get to be left open anywhere.
