I like it.  But I'd want to handle first before I bought one...

Well I just got home from the REI Grand Opening.  :ahhh  Wow there was a lot of people. I believe the count was over 600. After the long wait I finally made it in. I was the LAST person in the store.  :D I make my way the Leathermans and SAK'S and they have a decent, but over priced selection. Green Wave's were $90, Red Skeletool's for $65. The Juice line was at full blown retail. The only decently priced item I spotted was a Freestyle for $18. On the upside I carried my new Wingman in my back left pocket and it worked out great for me so I might buy another one for collection purposes. I am kind of upset about the price of the Green Wave and was set on buying one if it was around $70, but i'm thinking I rather buy a few extra Wingmans and a Freestyle.

I'd love to have one of those red skeletools but $65 for a tool that I will carry and it will chip. I don't like the sound of chipped paint. I guess my CX will have to do. :)

Yea if I bought the Green Wave or Skeletool it would stay in the Clamshell. Which is alright with me for the collecting side of things as I have plenty of other tools to carry. The price is just a bit steep for me though. Who knows I will probably end up going there later today and spending way to much money on things I don't need.

I knew you were going to do that.  :D I really do, but $90 plus tax is $100 out the door.  :(

I honestly am upset over the ridiculous prices on everything at REI. VIC Classics were $18.00.  :ahhh

The only place where I know Classics to be that much ($16) is a favorite SAK dealer of mine who makes the gun show circuit.  His prices aren't bad on anything else, though, it's just that when someone is just wanting a small SAK, he has to make a profit. :tu:  As an aside, though, his Alox Classics are the same price, so it's not too bad when he has discontinued colors for relatively cheap prices.  >:D

What colors are you wanting?  He sometimes comes across older colors, but he sells out of them quickly. :/

If you're an REI member, you ocassionally get email discounts. I think it's expired now, but on Oct 14th I bought a green Wave for $67.89, using a 20% off any regular price item and free shipping that I got from signing up for their emails. Not much more than a stainless tool, but I guess you have to join and sign up for emails. If you want to try it, the code is FALL4MEM.

I was thinking of signing up to be a member. It's only $20 for a lifetime membership. One of the store employee's told me they take all the returned items and invite the members in the area to the store and sell everything off at a heavy discount.  First of that I have heard.

Thank you for the code. I just spent my Green Wave money on a few wingmans to gift out but I might have to order a Green Wave if the code works.  :D

Rei is traditionally high on price. Great selection though. Even here in Portland it is rare to find anything close to a full selection of Leathermans outside Rei and the LM stores of course.
