Zurich SAK shopping?
on: October 27, 2011, 01:41:32 PM
am going to visit Zürich next week, anyone have any recommendations for SAK shopping? Would be especially interested in any pawn shop style places where older SAKs might be found. Othewise I assume there's some sort of flagship vic shop there.

Was in Zurich about 5 years ago. There were several excellent knife shops. In addition a number of tourist souvenir shops down in the Old Town had very good selections of SAKs. Department stores and jewelry stores also carried SAKs, sometimes including specially marked knives. Check the local Yellow Pages. Best place I found for older knives was the flea market, every Saturday morning down by the lake. Keep your eyes open as you're walking around, SAKs are everywhere. Good hunting!

thanks for the tips, I'll just be there on Tuesday, I looked on the internet and there don't seem to be any flea markets planned. I'll google myself a nice map of some differnt shops adn I'm sure I'll run into a fair few knife shops there,

The flea market finishes this Saturday :(

If you are coming into the airport there is a nice vic shop there

I am going to have a wander round the shops see if there are any damascus climbers around (not optimistic)

I hope I don't run into one of those damascus climbers, my bank account can't take the pain.  :P
I'm coming in by train, but I will be going to the airport later on this year.
