Quite the score my friend! You next goal, the Wenger Beer Walker.......(also known as the Basic 66 by snooty types who fuss about things like accuracy and facts)(Image removed from quote.)
I just discovered the Wenger Basic 66 and Classic 66. Would love to acquire one in decent shape. Unfortunately the only one I could find on eBay was destroyed. Blade had been sharpened on what appears to be a brick. Not even worth the $18 they wanted.
Posted another Wenger video:SwissBuck Sidekick compared with Wenger Traveler.
For medium-size SAKs, I prefer the Wenger design. After a few years of being irritated that I couldn't get the exact tool loadout I wanted, I just built my own.Technically this is a Victorinox, but it's based on the Wenger EvoGrip line:(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)I appreciate that it has a locking blade, unlike almost all Victorinox designs.
I "love" my Wenger/Victorinox "Evo Grip" 14, which if I understand correctly was/is originally a Wenger design. It has the (IMHO "better") Wenger scissors, and is the old Wenger standard 85mm closed as opposed to Victorinox's 91/"93"mm, at any rate.I also "love" my Mini Champ. However, I'm not sure if it started as a Wenger design before Wenger was bought by Victorinox. Serious question: Is/Was the Mini Champ originally a Wenger offering before they were bought by Victorinox? I've never seen another Victorinox (or Wenger, that I know of) with the cuticle pusher blade, or the mini Wharncliffe blade.A curious mind wants to know. 😷👍
mini champ (58mm) has always been from Victorinox, Wenger had the "pocket tool chest" in their 65mm line : https://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Pocket+Tool+Chest
Thank you.
I’m a Wenger Collector. My family came from Switzerland and there are Wenger’s in my family tree. Gerber’s too, for what it’s worth.
Very cool VistaMN welcome to MTo, look forward to seeing some of your Wengers
