Dumb question about Paracord
on: November 07, 2011, 04:30:15 PM
How amny different types of Paracord are there?

The little grab cord on the Evo81 is 7strand 550 paracord

Then theres this stuff:

Seen on the SanReMu.Its much thinner, but seems to be the same material as the outer covering of the 550cord.

Any ideas or info guys?

That's just gutted 550 by the look of it.

There are also several different types out there - I think I've seen 450 and 350 in the bigger stuff, then there's loads of different accessory cord which is around 1-3mm in varying types. The numbers are supposed to relate the breaking strain in Lbs I believe.

Generally Type I and III are all you will see.  They usually call Type I accessory cord, but the military will refer to it as Type I.  I buy both to use in different applications.
