Just another use for Vise-Grips
on: November 21, 2011, 02:33:28 PM
On the new tractor, the front end loader bucket is better at scooping, but not as useful for stacking 16 foot fence boards on.    I needed the lift capacity to get over gates and fences, but I also needed a way to keep the boards in place on the bucket.

Then it hit me:

Worked like a charm and super easy to unload the boards.  ;)

I really got a kick out of this tread for a couple of reasons...first I will remember to do this when I haul long boards on my tractor and second the comment about the price of a Crunch....compare the cost of the Crunch to the tractor!  I laughed out loud since I am even cheaper and will use C-Clamps on my front end loader bucket.

Crunches would be cool though...not that the vice-grips are not a great idea.

mine worked great for a window crank, although it wasn't vice grip it was leatherman crunch,,  JR

i used vise grips to keep my overalls on after the clasp broke. I was a couple miles from the truck stringing 5 strand barb wire. :P

Vice grips are undoubtedly a must have in any handyman's arsenal.  I have many variations left over from when I was working on Airplanes.  Well, those that weren't stolen right out of my box that is.
